Technically, it’s Shirley’s bike. But still.
I felt really silly when taking this picture because my friend Alex told me to stick my chest out, but it paid off. Arch your backs, everyone. It makes a world of difference.
I’m wearing a pair of vanity glasses from Urban Outfitters, a thrifted silk top,and polka dot shorts and a camera necklace from Forever 21. I think it’s the bike that makes the outfit, though. What is about bikes that makes them seem so youthful and carefree? Perhaps it’s my flagrant disregard for safety as I refuse to don a helmet lest it mess up my hair.
Vanity glasses are a very basic and essential tool in any accessories arsenal. I have 7 pairs. I’m letting myself believe that’s reasonable and not incredibly excessive.
I also believe in rocking pattern-on-pattern-on- pattern outfits. Especially when that pattern is polka dots. The top and shorts are from Forever 21 and the tights are from a tights store in Florence. Yes, tights stores exist and they are as magical as they sound. I spent a lot of money on tights when I was in Italy, but I just can’t resist hosiery.
How fabulous is this place? It’s in Athens, GA. It’s lime green and everything they serve is fried. I didn’t eat there, I just lingered outside awkwardly while Alex took my picture.
Also, if you’re not watching Portlandia, you should start. Immediately.
